Quattro Passi has one of the most stunningly beautiful views in the Mediterranean, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and the sapphire-blue sea that combine to make an authentic painter’s masterpiece, with the Bay of Nerano as the backdrop. Tonino Mellino, whose father was a fisherman and mother a cook, has fulfilled his dream in Marina del Cantone. A chef who is deeply attached to his homeland but with wide international experience that knows how to seduce his guests. His cuisine is simple and genuine, yet at the same time refined and draws on the solid roots of Mediterranean cuisine to recount travels and faraway countries, while keeping his feet firmly anchored to the land where he was born. The interior is all brilliant white, in contrast with the deep blue sky and sea; the novelty is the lounge bar where guests can linger in the marquee (that is also brilliant white) before and after lunch or dinner for a cocktail, a liqueur or a coffee in the company of a small sute of mallards. In the dining room, the skilful hands of his wife Rita and sons, Fabrizio and Raffaele, add a warm, homely feel to the haute cuisine on offer.
