Just a short walk from the elite beach of Forte dei Marmi, the restaurant Lorenzo has summarised a family history of art and excellent hospitality since 1980. Lorenzo Viani, nephew of the Impressionist with the same name, together with his daughter Clare, is heir to a long tradition of hoteliers and pioneered the creating of a harmonious fusion between a gourmet dining hall and kitchen. Savoir-faire and elegance characterise this gentleman-host when choosing the best of the Tyrrhenian Sea catch at dawn, and when observing his satisfied guests with his deep blue eyes. Playing counterpoint to one of the most professional set-ups in Italy, Gioacchino Pontrelli the chef has ruled the cooking stoves for over 30 years: a forerunner of a Campania that has also been appreciated in Versilia and still the creator of dishes that sing the praises of fine fresh fish. Bavette with fish, risotto-style pasta made with seafood, and Spaghetti alla Versiliese with seafood sweetbreads and fresh tomatoes remain etched in one’s heart and mind.
