A sudden flash of light appeared when chef Giancarlo Morelli saw an old apple orchard near a 19th century courtyard in the heart of Brianza: he immediately imagined it was where he would found his Pomiroeu. In 2018 the restaurant celebrated its 25th anniversary and its driving force is still Morelli with his eclectic, energetic, balanced and fun-filled cuisine. Through his experience and attention to products he has developed a philosophy based on respect for raw materials and sustainability: a cuisine that incorporates tradition with new interpretations. To celebrate the anniversary, the Pomiroeu proposes the “Evolution” tasting menu, a journey among the dishes that have marked its history: Light marinated whitefish with potato salad, Casoncelli alla bergamasca, Creamed rice with lightly-smoked buffalo ricotta, red prawn tartare, black truffles and trickling of anchovies, and Tiramisu. The icehouse was turned into a fine wine cellar: a place that holds a collection of labels that have undergone careful selection. An exclusive corner to be reserved for an unforgettable dinner. Pomiroeu is the home place of the expanding Morelli brand: in summer at the Phi Beach in Baja Sardinia and in Milan with the Bulk, the Morelli and the Trattoria Trombetta.
