The Antica Corte Pallavicina, the historical residence of the Marquises of Pallavicino, is a paradise for gourmets, who dream of spending the whole night there rather than just an unforgettable evening. A farmstead with zero kilometre ethics, a charming relais with a triumphant past, an exclusive restaurant surrounded by greenery that overlooks the Po and speaks the language of honest Emilians. Numerous culatellos already booked by famous names and worldwide celebrities are hanging on the walls in the wine cellar. Below that, there are whole cheeses of Parmigiano Reggiano, whose scent is as bewitching as the song of the Sirens. Massimo Spigaroli defends pork in every way: he breeds it, feeds it, cures it, cooks it and displays it in numerous events both at home and away. He has even built a museum to it inside his relais, dedicated to Culatello and the Masalén, the pork-butchers who handed down the art of proper pork butchery. One side of the restaurant is dedicated to a “pig bistro”, the Hostaria del Maiale, with a mediaeval atmosphere where you can enjoy cold cuts, cheeses and recipes from the Lower Modenese.
