“Casa” (Home) is first and foremost intimacy and harmonious pleasure of togetherness. This is why chef Giancarlo Perbellini takes personal care of his guests who, drawn by the restaurant sign, can get a foretaste of his cuisine of affection and effects. In the oldest, central part of Verona, in the imposing Piazza San Zeno, the chef works hard every day to recreate a simple, good-humoured atmosphere, in direct contact with his public also through the open-view kitchen, knocking down all barriers between his team and dinner guests. The culinary creations on offer are in line with the seasons, but the apparent simplicity and home-grown genuineness is always supported by elegance, refinement and sophistication. A good dose of creative flair and originality is ever present, clearly visible in the formula on the menu “Choose your Pleasure!”, where guests are left the task of deciding the main ingredient to become the pivot of their culinary path. The menu also includes reassuring cult dishes that Giancarlo is famous for throughout Italy, such as pigeon with almond purée and the Casa Perbellini’s Sweetness or Sesame Wafer with sea bass tartare. In the dining room, the sommelier recommends ideal food-wine pairings, drawing on a myriad of excellent wines from Europe, kept in the Romanesque style wine cellar.
