Sicily: land of a thousand flavours that talk of a weave of peoples and philanthropic cultures. An island cradled by the Mediterranean with Europe, the Middle-East and Africa on its horizons, but which uses a cuisine that unites rather than separates. This is what happens in the Duomo restaurant, housed in the impressive Palazzo La Rocca in Ragusa, in a picturesque lane with a Baroque feel overlooking the Duomo di San Giorgio. The interior design is reminiscent of an old apartment divided into several rooms. Precisely in these moderately-luxurious surroundings, chef Ciccio Sultano speaks about his Sicilian culinary heritage through refined dishes with an all-embracing thrust, inspired by Arabic, Jewish, Roman and Norman influences.
“A journey through time and space, which starts from tradition and looks to the future”: this is their philosophy, in a perpetual oscillation between land and sea, past and present, rationale and emotions. A special bonus is provided by the pleasant service of maître Gabriella Cicero and the expertise of sommelier Antonio Currò, occasionally bold with some less academic pairings.
