A meadow in the sun: that is what Laite means in Sappada dialect. Two small, time-honoured dining rooms lined with wood, perched at the foot of the Dolomites and now renowned as a gourmet restaurant. The wonderful love that unites chef Fabrizia Meroi and her husband Roberto Brovedani, the host, has endured for over thirty years with great complicity.
The inspiration of this talented, self-taught creator gains energy from the daily life in the woods and among the small producers of the area and intertwines with the teachings of her maternal grandmother to turn into a proposal of instinctive sensitivity. Seasonal choices and intense research reveal an authentic attachment to the local land made of game, mushrooms, fir trees and stone pines. In the dining room, Roberto acts as host with a carefully-crafted and friendly service, which focuses his attention on the guests and their wine choices. As sommelier he continues the story introduced by his companion in the kitchen, suggesting perfect combinations with Italian and French wines and spirits, scrupulously kept in the typical Sappada stone wine cellar. For a moment of pleasure in an oasis of paradise crowned by a magical happy ending.
