Lorenzo

Lorenzo and Chiara Viani, Gioacchino Pontrelli

In Tuscany’s Forte dei Marmi, one of Italy’s classic seaside vacation towns, Lorenzo is an institution. Since opening its doors in 1981, it’s never lost sight of its number-one goal: quality, quality and more quality. Today Lorenzo Viani still runs this legendary restaurant, along with his daughter Chiara, on the front lines from morning till night. Every day he gets up and drives along the coast between Viareggio and Versilia in search of fresh fish for his guests – many of whom have become regular customers. Chef Gioachino Pontrelli has been with the Vianis for some twenty years, working that fish according to recipes of the house that ensure Lorenzo remains synonymous with culinary excellence and balanced tastes. The menu is a celebration of seafood in all its majesty, whose freshness is beyond reproach whatever the season. Classic cuisine, refined and elegant, driven by the Mediterranean tradition, which brings out the best in top-quality ingredients. Seafood appetizers, first and main courses are never overworked, and cooking is never out of control. The wine list extends worldwide and features memorable vintages from Tuscany to Piedmont, from Sicily to Friuli, as well as France, the United States, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. Take a tip from the friendly, knowledgeable staff, and you won’t be disappointed!
