Enoteca Pinchiorri

Riccardo Monco and Alessandro Tomberli

Institution and leader in the Italian and international food-and-wine scene for years, Enoteca Pinchiorri is located in the historic Palazzo Jacometti-Ciofi, in the heart of Florence. Previously, when the Enoteca Nazionale was based in the building, Giorgio Pinchiorri took his first steps as sommelier until he took the reins of the whole business in 1979 and expanded it with a restaurant, also thanks to the lucky encounter with Annie Féolde, a French born in the culinary world. She has always been by his side throughout the years, and she became the first woman in Italy to enter the elite of international cuisine. Their menu is extremely fine, sophisticated and based on the essence of the Italian spirit which can be tasted in all their dishes. A perfect balance between past, present and future is guaranteed and we can see it, especially, in the connection they wisely created with a legendary wine cellar, which has always been looked after by Giorgio Pinchiorri with great knowledge and thoroughness and boasts some of the most important labels in the world. Riccardo Monco and Alessandro Della Tommasina are the protagonists in the kitchen, whereas the dining room area is overseen by Alessandro Tomberli, sommelier and maître d’ since 1995. In this refined, luxurious and constantly evolving atmosphere, we can still feel the presence of history, protagonist of the great Italian food-and-wine culture.
